In a rare collaboration between public and private
sectors, the City of Los Angeles Police Department™
(LAPD) has partnered with Pelican™ Products to develop
the Pelican™ 7060 LED as the standard issue tactical/patrol
flashlight for all its officers.
It comes with a charger base unit that can be
installed at home or work using the 110V transformer. Or
in a vehicle through direct wiring or 12V plug-in.
Exclusive duty and tactical light of the LAPD. Working
together in a unique public/private endeavor, the
Los Angeles Police Department and Pelican™ Products,
Inc. have redefined the tactical application of the
standard duty light. Using a consensus approach, the
LAPD solicited input from community groups, the
City of Los Angeles, and most importantly officers
serving on the streets. In the end, the specifications
called for a new dual switch LED design, and Pelican
Products began the R&D to make the light into reality.
An officer on patrol needs the burn time and convenience
of a neck-switched duty light, but tactical situations
can demand a tail switch with momentary activation.
The new Pelican™ 7060 serves both purposes in a single,
compact unit with incredible brightness.
